Ingredients

  • Oregano – A staple in Mediterranean cuisine, this mixture features lots of oregano.
  • Thyme, Rosemary, Parsley, Basil – Equal parts of these herbs highlight more classic flavors of Italian dishes.
  • Sage – Not much is needed to round out the flavors in this recipe.
  • Garlic Powder – Not typically included in Italian herb mixes, but I find that I add it to almost all of my Italian-inspired dishes, so I included it right into this mix.

How to Make Italian Herb Mix

This recipe is as easy as it gets. Just add all the spices into a bowl and mix them until evenly distributed. I find it easiest to mix using a fork or a whisk.

You may have to give this mix a quick shake before using it every time as the heavier spices can settle to the bottom.

More Tips for Making Italian Herb Mix

  • Not Vegan? Add some chicken salt to the mix, 1/4 tsp should do.
  • Want some heat? Add up to 1 tsp crushed red pepper if desired.
  • You may have to re-mix each time you use this, as some of the heavier spices will tend to settle to the bottom.
