Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp dark chili powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ tsp dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Measure each spice and pour into a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  2. Use a fork or metal whisk to mix the spices until they are evenly blended.
  3. Use right away or store in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 1 year.

Notes

  1. Add some heat by adding 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper.
  2. Make sure to mix well. The cumin tends to get a bit clumpy.
  3. You may have to re-mix each time you use this, as some of the heavier spices will tend to settle to the bottom.
  4. Not Vegan? Add some chicken salt to the mix, 1/2 tsp should do.
