Ready in 10 minutes, this easy Strawberry Compote Recipe comes together with just a few simple ingredients. Use it to top cake, ice cream, or to fill tarts or pies.
Wash the strawberries and remove the stems. Slice or chop the strawberries to the desired size.
Mix the strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch in a cold sauce pan. Stir until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
Heat the mixture over medium-high heat until it thickens and the strawberries are tender (about 5 minutes).
Let cool and serve or store in the fridge for later.
