Baked Falafel with Garlic Tahini Sauce

This quick and easy Baked Falafel is made in under 30 minutes with just 8 basic ingredients. Served with a delicious dairy-free Garlic Tahini Dipping Sauce.

Ingredients
  

For the Falafel

  • 1 15oz can chickpeas
  • 2 medium shallots
  • ½ cup fresh parsley leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp oil

For the Garlic Tahini Dipping Sauce

  • ½ cup tahini
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 2 tsp garlic paste (about 4 cloves of garlic)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 - 4 tbsp water
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley leaves
  • 1 tsp dried dill

Instructions
 

To Make the Falafel:

  1. Preheat the oven 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Dice the shallots and remove the large stems from the parsley.
  3. Add all ingredients into a food processor and pulse 10-20 times until the mixture is uniform but not smooth. If you pulse too long, you will end up making hummus!
  4. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, portion the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, shaping each falafel into a flattened ball.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 min per side.

For the Garlic Tahini Dipping Sauce

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth, adding more water to reach desired thickness.
  2. That's it! Serve and enjoy!

  • Not Vegan? Serve with a dairy-based sauce or in a pita with feta cheese.
  • Gluten-free? Just swap for gluten-free breadcrumbs and you're all set.
  • Oil-free? Swap the oil in the falafel with water and you're all set!
