How to Make Vegan Caramel Apples

Start by making the caramel sauce. You can find a detailed step by step explanation of how to make my homemade Vegan Caramel Sauce by following the link.

In short, you will melt your sugar completely in a medium sauce pan, then add the plant cream. Stir constantly so it doesn’t burn. Remove it from heat and stir in the salt.

Let the caramel cool for about 5 minutes so it is thick enough to stick to the apples.

Stick each apple with a wooden skewer. Holding the skewer, dip each apple into the caramel sauce, twirling it to coat all sides of the apple. Immediately dip into any additional toppings then place in the fridge for 5 minutes so the caramel continues to harden and sticks to the apple.

That’s it! Serve and enjoy!

How to Store

  • Room temp: Store loosely covered at room temperature for 3-5 days.

More Tips

  • Not Vegan? Use regular cream for the caramel and you’ve made a traditional caramel apple.
  • Nut-free? Stick with non-nut toppings like sprinkles and you’re all set. The caramel itself is nut-free.
  • Gluten-free? The recipe is gluten-free as is. Make sure to select a certified gluten-free plant cream and you’re all set.
