Why You’ll Love Oil-Free Apple Cider Vinaigrette
- Allergy-friendly – This apple cider vinaigrette is gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free, making it a safe bet for crowds.
- Whole Foods Plant Based – This recipe uses no oil and focuses on other whole foods, making it a healthier option than most store-bough dressings.
- Versatile – Use this as a classic salad dressing or use it to marinade veggies, tofu, or even chicken if you aren’t vegan. The options are endless!

Ingredients
- Apple cider – Fresh apple cider adds so much flavor to this recipe! It helps balance the acidity of the apple cider vinegar and Dijon mustard, as well as adds a touch of sweetness.
- Apple cider vinegar – This gives the classic vinaigrette flavors.
- Maple syrup – Just a touch of maple syrup is used to balance the strong flavors in this recipe.
- Dijon mustard – Adds a ton of flavor.
- Garlic – Fresh minced is best for this recipe, but you can sub with garlic powder if you don’t have fresh.
- Salt & Pepper – Only a touch of salt is needed and the pepper adds some flavor as well.
How to Make Oil-Free Apple Cider Vinaigrette
Just add all of the ingredients into a small bowl or glass measuring cup. My favorite is a glass measuring cup with a pour spout for easy use immediately after making.
Mix with a whisk or fork until the mustard is evenly incorporated.
That’s it!

Use it to dress your favorite salads, marinate fall veggies, or even as a marinade for chicken if you aren’t vegan.
Enjoy!

Hello, may I sub apple juice instead of using cider?
Hi! Absolutely! Apple juice may yield a slightly sweeter flavor, but otherwise it’s a perfect sub for cider. I hope you enjoy!
